Gazing at the full moon,
it's difficult to be ungrateful,
and looking at a golden sunset,
it's hard to sing the blues.

Welcome to NewsDump, an ezine written to help you think of your life as an exciting
adventure, to look at it in more positive ways, to appreciate your everyday joys and riches.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Each new day opens with untold joys and
opportunities. We have all heard these clichés all our lives. Truer words were never spoken.
How many times have the responsibilities we all face at the beginning of a day, made us feel
like going back to bed or hiding in a quiet place - a beach, the woods, even a desert?
Life can and does make all of us feel overwhelmed, even inadequate, at times. But through
our inner strength, usually shored up with our individual faith, whatever that is for each
of us, we make it through the days and nights doing the best we can. We celebrate life.
We get fed, ad nauseum, the media's idea of what our aspirations and success should
be. Many times this makes the everyday person feel invisible, like a non-person.
My purpose is to take uplifting writings, life's antidotes, and tidbits of helpful information
and make it available. May the ramblings of my mind, and the minds of the more learned than I,
be of help to you.
With this in mind...
I Wish You
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Beauty for your eyes to see.
Courage to know yourself
and faith so that you can believe.
Patience to accept the truth.
And love to complete your life.
If not....
Then I wish you enough chocolate to get through the tough times!!!

This is my first column.
What to write? Hmmmm…
Awhile back, I waited in the vet’s office, as an outpatient,
to get my right eyelid re-opened...a long story for another day and time. I was trying to relax.
While I read a magazine, my stomach was groaning from hunger pains...I had been fasting since
midnight.
As I tried to distract myself, I tossed around a few ideas for this column. Every
few minutes I kept thinking about having a cigar, but you know how it is at the vet's - No Smoking.
Some time ago, I started writing about my adventures when my Mom sent out my antics in her email.
In some circles I am known as Leaf Boy. This started because I like to grab a leaf in my mouth as
I run through the yard. I keep the leaf in my mouth for several minutes. Leaves are so me, that I have
posed for pictures on our deck with a giant leaf that almost covers my face. Sometimes I even get in the
house with a leaf in my mouth. A gift for Mom, but she does not seem to appreciate it.
Once, when our Maple tree had been pruned, I played with entire
branches of leaves that were lying on the ground. Mom and Dad thought it was so cute that they took
a roll of film of me doing this. Parents.
Nature is me. I can be running along trying to decide where to "go" and where to play
and I stop immediately to smell a flower. Well, you know what they always say, stop and smell the roses.
All the flowers
of all the tomorrows
are in the seeds of today.

Being
happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.
It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.
